Jokowi Solicits Counsel from Exporters to Boost Exports

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo on Wednesday held a meeting with ministers and domestic exporters at the State Palace to discuss exports and imports.
“We invited exporters to give suggestions to the government, especially in improving and developing our country's exports,” said Jokowi on Wednesday.
The president also asked for suggestions on regulations that could improve trade balance. “So, we want to know in what matter we can help,” he said.
On that occasion, Jokowi said the government was committed to providing export incentives and easing license processing.
Among the exporters in the meeting were those from the Indonesian Exporters Association, while ministers accompanying the president included Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel, Industry Minister Saleh Husin, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti, State Enterprises Minister Rine Soemarno and presidential chief of staff Luhut Panjaitan.
